The Centre for Lithuanian Organ Heritage public institution was established in 2007 (VšĮ „Vargonų paveldo centras“, VPC) under the initiative of organ historian, researcher and restorer Dr. Girėnas Povilionis. Among the first significant projects implemented by the Centre:

  • in 2008, creation of online catalogue – database of Lithuanian historical organs www.vargonai.com;
  • in 2008, release of Lithuanian Historical Organs CD;
  • in 2008, release of Lithuanian organs documentary DVD;
  • in 2008, European Heritage Days, cycle of events (public lectures, tours, concerts, over 20 different locations in Lithuania), in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage;
  • in 2009, publication of Lithuanian Baroque-Clasical Organ Catalogue.
